Preparation method
๐ฟ Preparation: Dissolve the coconut flakes in distilled water for 5-10 minutes so that they do not bubble. Fill the pot with soil.
๐ฟ Sowing: Sow the seeds on the surface of the soil. Do not bury the seeds as they will not germinate. You can just lightly cover them with a very thin layer of soil.
๐ฟ Heat: After sowing, seeds must be kept warm and moist until germination. If the soil dries out or the container gets cold, the seeds will not germinate at all. This is the most important step for successful germination. Ideally, seeds should be kept between 78-90F (25-32ยฐC). They will germinate faster at higher temperatures.
๐ฟ Humidity: Covering the pot with plastic wrap can help prevent the pots from drying out and maintain high humidity, but it is an optional step. If you choose to cover the pot, remember to open the plastic cover occasionally to allow fresh air into the pot and prevent mold growth, and DO NOT place them in direct sunlight as this will kill the seeds. Indirect sunlight is ideal.
๐ฟ Spraying: Use the sprayer from the kit to spray the seeds with distilled water .
๐ฟ Patience: This is the key to growing flytrap seeds. They usually germinate after 2 weeks, but most often in 3-5 weeks. However, it can take longer in cold winter months.
๐ฟ Transplanting: When the seeds germinate and reach 1 cm, carefully transplant them into larger pots using the included seed collector.
